General Questions

What do I need to play?

+ See Answer

First, you’ll need to create a free account. Once registered, you can either try our monthly free game, or purchase a Partypit Pass subscription to play all of our games.

Next, you’ll need a laptop or computer connected to a big screen so all of the players can see the game prompts. If you have other players joining you remotely, they’ll need a big screen as well. Connect your laptop to a big screen, such as a TV or projector, using an HDMI cable, Apple AirPlay or Google Chromecast.

Finally, each player needs a smartphone (a tablet or a laptop can work too) to use as their own individual game controller.

To get started, just hit the “Play Now” button, sign in to your account (if you aren't already signed in), and choose a game to play. The game will guide you through the simple process of getting everyone connected.

Do I need to install anything?

+ See Answer

Nope, there's nothing to install. Our games download and play directly through your favorite web browser!

What devices can I use to play?

+ See Answer

All players in the same location will need to share a large screen or TV that's connected to a laptop or computer running a modern web browser. For a small group or road trip, sharing a laptop or tablet screen can work. (In the future, we'll be adding Xbox and Fire TV devices!)

In addition to the shared "Big Screen", each player will need to have their own, individual device. A modern smartphone is the best experience, but a tablet or laptop is ok, too.

All devices need to have an available internet or cellular data connection to play.

Can I share my account with friends or family?

+ See Answer

To keep our service affordable, we discourage sharing of accounts. For this reason, only one game can be played by an account at any given time. If your account is shared with friends or family, you run the risk of your game being prematurely ended if another person creates a game using your account.

If you have recently signed into a device or browser that is not your own device (for example, while playing at a friend's house), you can log out all devices by using the "log out other devices" feature found in your account settings.

My game kicked me out – why?

+ See Answer

More than likely, multiple players are sharing one account and trying to play separate games. Only one game can be played by an account at any given time. If you’re running into this, please consider creating your own accounts and purchasing your own Partypit Pass subscriptions. That's what keeps us going!

If you’re having a different problem, please contact us so we can help you resolve the issue. We’ll respond to you as soon as we can.

How often do you release new games?

+ See Answer

We are a small company, but we’re working hard to deliver new games that are fresh and fun. Our unofficial goal is to add 2-3 new games to our library each year but we've fallen behind that goal. We appreciate honesty, so we'll be honest with you and say that Partypit is still working hard to gain traction - and we've had to move it down in our list of life's priorities. And that's ok! But we do love Partypit and hope to add more games as soon as we possibly can. To ensure you hear about new releases or other Partypit announcements, check the appropriate boxes under the "Emails & Notifications" section of your Partypit account settings - we promise we won't spam you!

Can I play with other random players online?

+ See Answer

Unfortunately, this feature isn't part of our platform at this time. We hope to offer this in the future, but in the meantime you're welcome to find friends online and share "Big Screen Codes" to play remotely.

I have an older phone/tablet. Which versions of browsers and operating systems does this require?

+ See Answer

While we don't maintain a list of specific operating system or browser versions that we support, you can generally expect our service to support the following:

  • Android and iOS versions that are 2-3 major versions behind most recent release.
  • MacOS and most Linux distros that are 2-3 major versions behind most recent release
  • Windows 10, Windows 11
  • Browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge versions released in past 2-3 years

Do you sell my personal information?

+ See Answer

We respect your privacy and take it very seriously. To learn more about how we use your information, please check out our privacy policy.

Remote Play

How do I connect to a game remotely?

+ See Answer

If using a web browser, visit partypit.tv/screen then ask the player that created the game for the "Big Screen Code". (This code is found within the "Options" menu of a newly created game.) Enter this code to sync your big screen with the game.

Once you’ve synced your big screen, players at your location will follow the prompts on the big screen to join the game with their own personal devices.

How do I invite friends to play with me remotely?

+ See Answer

After you’ve started a new game, open the "Options" menu shown on the big screen. This will reveal a "Big Screen Code", which you can give to your friends playing remotely. They’ll need to visit partypit.tv/screen on their big screen (tv, projector, etc. connected to a web browser) and enter the Big Screen Code to get started. This will sync their big screen to the game.

Once their big screen is synced, each player at their location will follow the on-screen prompts to join the game with their own personal devices.

Can I talk to my friends if we’re playing remotely?

+ See Answer

At this time, Partypit does not natively provide voice chat features into remote games.

However, there are a variety of audio and video chat services that can be used to communciate with remote players while you play. Some of our favorites include:

  • Discord - Have one person in each location join the same Discord server using their phone. Turn on the speakerphone so everyone in the room can hear players in the other location(s). Keep discord running in the background of your phone while playing.
  • Zoom
  • Google Meet
  • Phone call - Have one person in each location join a speakerphone call. This way everyone can speak to and hear each other across locations.

Free Accounts

Is this really free?

+ See Answer

Yes, you can sign up for a free account, and play whichever game title is free that month.

To play all of our games at an affordable price, check out the Partypit Pass.

Do my friends and family need to register or pay to join me in a game?

+ See Answer

No. Only the player who starts the game needs to have an account. The other players will quickly join the game (without registering) from their personal mobile devices by following the prompts on the big screen.

Partypit Pass

If I purchase a Partypit Pass subscription, can the friends I invite play all games with me for free, or only the free game for the month?

+ See Answer

Only the player that starts a game must have access to that game title. With a Partypit Pass subscription, you have access to start any of our game titles. Once a game has started, all other players can join and play for free (no registration required).

If I purchase a Partypit Pass subscription, then cancel before my subscription period ends, will I still have access?

+ See Answer

When a Partypit Pass subscription is cancelled, you'll continue to have access through the period you have paid. Once that period has ended, your access will end and your payment method will no longer be charged.

Example: If you start a monthly plan on October 15th and cancel your subscription on October 22nd, you'll continue to have access until November 15th.
